TheTapChangerAnalyzer&WindingOhmmeterRMO-TDisastand-aloneorPC-controlleddigitalinstrumentdesignedfordetailedanalysisofon-loadtapchangersandformeasuringresistancesofinductivetestobjectsusedintheelectricpowerindustryorsimilarindustries.Itisemployedforresistancemeasurementduringthemanufacturing,commissioningandtestingof:Transformers,On-loadtapchangers,De-energizedtapchangers,Generatorsandelectricalmotors,Highcurrentbusbarjoints,Cablesplices.TheRMO-TDisalsocapableofautomatictransformerdemagnetization.ItisrecommendedtoperformtransformerdemagnetizationafterallDCcurrenttesthavebeencompletedinordertoavoidproblemssuchaserroneousdiagnosticelectricalmeasurementsonatransformeroraninrushcurrentatthestart-upofthepowertransformerorincorrectoperationofprotectiverelaysduetomagnetizedCTcores.TheRMO-TDisalsousedtocreatetheautomaticresistance/temperaturemeasurementfortheHeatRuntesttogetherwiththeDV-Winsoftware.AnyusesoftheRMO-TDotherthantheonesmentionedaboveareconsideredimproperandwillinvalidatewarrantyclaims.
TRT63 THREE-PHASE TRANSFORMER TURNS-RATIO TESTER
TheThree-phaseTransformerTurnsRatioTesterTRT63isdesignedspecificallyforperformingmeasurementsonpower,distributionandmeasurementtransformersasfollows: •Turnsratiomeasurement•Phaseshiftmeasurement•Excitationcurrentmeasurement Thesethreetestsareperformedatthesametime.TRT63appliestestvoltagetoHterminalsandmeasuresinducedvoltageatXterminals.Theratioofthesevoltagesisactuallytheturnsratioofatransformer.Atthesametime,TRT63measurestheexcitationcurrentattheHVtransformerside,aswellasthephaseanglebetweentheappliedtestvoltageandinducedvoltage. Therearethreewaystoperformthemeasurementsdependingonthetestobjectandatestvoltage.Ifthetestobjectisasingle-phasetransformer,asingle-phaseautotransformer,oracurrenttransformer,TRT63providesasingle-phasetestvoltagetoappropriateHterminalsandmeasurestheinducedvoltageatcorrespondingXterminals. Ifthetestobjectisathree-phasetransformerorathree-phaseautotransformer,TRT63canapplyeitherthreesingle-phasetestvoltagesinturnsoratruethree-phasetestvoltagetoHterminals.ThreeinducedvoltagesattheXterminalsaremeasured.

TheTWA40Dmodelsupportssimultaneousthree-phasetapchangeranalysisandsimultaneousthree-phasewindingresistancemeasurementforwindingsconnectedinYNconfiguration.Both,theTWA40DandTWA25Kmodelsaredesignedforsix-windingresistancemeasurementofallsixtransformerwindingswithasingle-steptestleadconnection.TheTWAgeneratesatrueDCripplefreecurrent.Injectionofcurrentaswellasanautomaticdischargeofenergyfromthemagneticcircuitareautomaticallyregulated.TapchangeranalysisperformedbytheTWAincludesboth,thestaticandthedynamicresistancemeasurements. TheTWAisalsocapableofautomatictransformerdemagnetization.ItisrecommendedtoperformtransformerdemagnetizationafterallDCcurrenttestshavebeencompletedinordertoavoidproblemssuchaserroneouselectricalmeasurementsanddiagnosticsoraninrushcurrentatthestart-upofapowertransformerorincorrectoperationofprotectiverelaysduetomagnetizedCTcores.
